Ride Report: 07.10.11

Another hot day, and another relaxing ride at dusk.  This time I headed west to further investigate a potential stealth site.  Out past Wellsville is a patch of woods.  It turns out that it is the back way into a large horse farm.  Given the lack of tracks on the cinder lane and distance away from the pastures, I think it has a lot of potential to spend a night unnoticed.

This is the lane going into the woods:

About .3 miles into the woods the ground cover clears off and there are some nice spots off of the path for a tent.  Unfortunately, the tent would be visible if someone should come up the lane.

A little further yet, and the lane opens into the pastures for the horses.  Its really a lovely place:

I backtracked up the lane, out on to the main road, and then did a circle back to Wellsville.  As best as I can tell, this is the “front” of the farm; and those trees in the background are where I was at:

This also is going to have to go on my “to do” list, once the weather cools a bit; but not so cool for the trees to lose their foliage.  It’s about 10 miles from the house.

Misc. Miles: 2

Distance: 22.5  2011: 803.2
