I know that this is everywhere on the bike blogs, but I have to mention the passing of Sheldon Brown out of respect for him, his family, and his passion. I have had a link to his Harris Cyclery site, and you’ll note I refer to him as “bike guru.” This man lived and breathed classic bikes, and proved himself an invaluable resource for anyone looking to rebuild a classic, fit together a tourer, or build up a budget fixie. The guy knew his stuff. I never met or talked to him, but he helped me out a few times just with what he had posted up on his site.
The bike world is filled with characters; but very few who really know what they are talking about. We lost a good one, but his legacy is that many more will step forward to fill his shoes.
